    Air base gate crashed

This is actually the first I have heard of this...kind of surprising since the base is only about 100 miles north of me and we usually get most of the news from that area about as soon as it happens.

Besides the bollards that require you to make S turns after going through the gate we have similar little beauties like this installed here at Seymour Johnson, donít think any terrorists will get through.

Robins, my first and longest PCS assignment. I guess that's one way of reducing the number of immigrants.

Anyone venture to guess why they did it?
I guess barriers and walls do work.

It was my first assignment, too, in 1962. I still visit there occasionally. Nice museum there.

Wish I had that barrier around my house.
Had a drunk crash through my living room at 0230 a few years back.
He was still trying to drive had the pedal to the floor when I got out of bed.
Thank God he was hung up on a fence pole when he took out half my fence before crashing through the wall.
Luck man, I almost killed him when I dragged him out of his truck before police showed up.

No word that we can find on why. Very strange. Three unidentified men, no mention of why, no mention of where they were taken, or by whom. Hmmm.

Interesting list of units based at Robins these days.

Let's be honest, most military installations have hundreds of miles of unattended fence line. I used to work at a power plant that abutted an Army post. There was a substation on post that the local utility was responsible for. The utility installed a gate in the perimeter fence of the post to access the substation, it took the M&Ps Two years to realize they'd done it.

I can't imagine any terrorist who was seriously intending to attack a military post wasting their time on the front gate.

You know, I'm sure that there are those bright enough to plan out an assault that uses more sophisticated methods, but we have had several attempts on US Military installations in recent years that were anything but well planned, sophisticated, or subtle. So, I wouldn't discount this attempt so quickly.

Only the terrorist masterminds have any brains.
