Soviet Era Spy Radio Found Buried in Germany

Came across this article that made me wonder what preps by America's enemies could be found buried in our own lands.
Archaeologists digging for the remains of a Roman villa near the German city of Cologne have found a sophisticated Soviet spy radio that was buried there shortly before the fall of the Iron Curtain.

Wonder if the spy that buried it forgot where he buried it?

If a Soviet spy radio was discovered in the US it would be a featured auction on eBay within a day or two!

If it had been discovered in the US, it would have been in the backyard of one of Bernie’s houses.

If it was discovered in the US CNN would report that a MAGA sticker was on the bottom.

I wonder what the frequency ranges were on that thing? I wonder if it had some sort of encryption?

They really did not give enough technical data in the article.

Shortwave only. 2 - 13,499 MHz in 4 ranges. CW.

Here's a more in depth report and a link to the radio specs.

Not really a big deal. When I was over there Guarding Nukes and Reagan we had Soviet Liaison Military (SMLM) creeping all over West Germany spying on us even though they were not supposed to be there. We had pictures of them driving by the nuke site I worked at.

And we had the USMLM doing the same thing in E Germany. They drove some interesting cars at time, like 4WD Ford Galaxy.

The only common sense gun legislation was written about 229 years ago.

I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.
