    FS: Vintage Lyman Super Targetspot

    I took this scope off of my 40X before selling the rifle.
    Excellent working condition all the way around. The only marks on the tube are normal slide marks from recoil.
    30x. That's right, thirty power. And with fine target reticles with dot. Makes an excellent bench scope. POSA mounts.

    Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. It's that whole no notifications thing...

    No idea. Fifties, Sixties?
    I'm sure some folks here who got into target shooting back when I was a tyke would know.

    Trying to date a scope is an exercise in futility. So many makers were taken over by Japanese companies and the records lost or simply not transferred.
    And there was a scope re-builder who used to have some serial#'s on file, but the company was taken over by his son and I got nowhere when I called there a few years ago.

    It's a nifty scope for sure. Supposedly for any caliber. You just adjust the tension on the recoil spring.

    Saw one a few years ago on an old benchrest rifle at the LGS.

    Patent was issued Aug 27, 1935.

    Appears that one is marked pat pending this would lead me to believe it was prior to 1935?
