    Colt 1911 BNIB Government Series 70

    This is a rare firearm, a genuine Colt 1911 .45 ACP Government Series 70 still in its original plastic bag and coated with some kind of anti-corrosive grease (cosmoline?). It comes with all the original paperwork and one magazine.     It's a large rollmark, I'd guess late 1970s.

    I still have mine. It was more accurate with those sights then after I got it back with Heinie's early version sights installed. More daylight for a faster sight picture but a little less slow fire accuracy. Now that my eyes have aged I like the new sights. It's been a fine firearm down through the years.

    Was never a fan of the A1 backstrap.....all mine are 70's except for the one made in '18.
