    Cool North Idaho "Newbie"

Hello everyone! I am somewhat new to North Idaho. I have lived here about 2 years and am finally getting around to setting up my Idaho Enhanced CCW Permit. In Idaho adults over 21 can carry concealed without a permit. Wild huh?!? Well It RIGHT thing to do in my mind is to pay the fees, take the class and submit your fingerprints to the Sheriff and ask his\her blessing to carry concealed. I prefer it that way anyway. I moved here from Oregon where I held a CCW permit as well. Now that I am an Idaho resident, Oregon does not recognize my Oregon permit unless I convert it to a non resident permit. I have looked into doing just that but have not yet gotten around to it.

I am taking classes here for defensive handgun tactics and training as well as other defensive combat classes.

As for firearms, I have a tried and true Springfield XD. 45 ,the original 4 inch barrel version. I got it on release day and have many many rounds through it. I was carrying that for a long time. In the past month I have really gotten bitten by the Glock bug and have purchased 3 of them. My Glock 17 is my range nail driver. My Glock 19 is my carry side arm of choice and is also very accurate. My plinker is the new Glock 44 .22LR this has been a blast to shoot and saves a lot of money on ammo which has become my go to expense now that I am a local gun range member.

I hope to see everyone around the forums. Stay safe out there.

    Welcome from Tennessee!
Me: "..and that brings us back to the age old question, how much ammo should you carry or how much is enough, doesn't it? Lol "

The age old questions answer is carry more, not less. For if more isn't enough, less surely won't be. lol"

Greetings from Washington. I spend a fair bit of time over there. Love it! Will likely be my retirement destination once I can leave the shipyards behinds...

The situation will NEVER BE THE WAY YOU WANT, it WILL BE THE WAY IT IS. You must be FLEXIBLE ENOUGH TO ADAPT and just "DEAL WITH IT".

Is there any upside to getting your permit if you can CC without one?
