What a cluster.
This is a discussion on Little Rock Officer Fires 15 Rounds into Windshield of Stolen Vehicle within the In the News: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly forums, part of the The Back Porch category; ...
What a cluster.
"Stop being dangerous, and you become edible." William Aprill
"Slaves, enjoy your freedom." Chuck Klosterman
That was intense. Once again, an officer is hamstrung by "the rules." 9 commands to "put your left hand up." That's just a few too many to have to give.

That's more common than most people imagine. Our agency had quite a few shootings during my career which had the officer shooting through the windshield. That was one of the reasons we switched from 9 mm to .40 in the early 90's. 9mm have a tendency to skip off slanted windshields much more than .40's, IME.

Wait 'till that one gets to court..........no one saw a gun..............ridiculous.
That's going to get messy.
I was curious whether the deceased actually had a gun. So I searched for news items. I found that the few I read only refer to a gun in stating that the female passenger said the driver had one. Subsequent reports do not meantion actually finding a gun.
These are two statements in one article. Article is here.
Another article indicated the officer has a discpinary history that has cost him a month’s worth of suspensions. That article is here. After the car stops, Starks tells a female passenger to get on the ground. He handcuffs her, and she says Blackshire had just picked her up and that he had a gun.
Scott said the FBI contacted Little Rock police to conduct a civil rights review on behalf of the U.S. Department of Justice.
That was intense alright !!! Hopefully there WAS a gun in the car !!! In todays world (unfortunately) everyone who fails to comply IS the victim.

Saw this once while I was in traffic....LE surrounded the car in front of us with guns drawn barking orders...driver wouldn't comply. Finally, one officer broke the driver side window, grabbed the driver and showed him what it is like to relive your birth as an adult by pulling him out through the window....my wife was with me and we both were duckin' behind the front console.

He has since turned in his badge, and gun. Haven't heard any further outcome. In his defense, I'm sure 85% of us would have responded same way, had we been his shoes. God only knows what the liberal courts will decide.

Saw yesterday, knew it wasn’t going to be a pretty out come. Hope the officer comes out all right both mentally and with the shooting.
