    Good job. But sad to say, if that happened here in the states, good guy would be the one going to jail.

    Unfortunately, in the UK the gentleman may still have to answer to an assault charge. Politically unlikely, but not beyond question, as there is no right to use force in self-defense situations in the UK.

    Its an off duty police officer, and the police station he works for says that he acted according to their departmental standards and will not be charged or reprimanded.
