    He will not be charged.
The homeowner just happens to work in the coroners office.
Wonder if he gets to do the autopsy?

Good news, the taxpayers won't be giving him free food, housing, medical care.
Bad news, he won't get a chance to put his lesson to good use.

So "he" was a "Miss"? How does that work? Oops, I just saw why. "Miss" = Mississippi. Sorry for the waste of a post.

The dead guy is described as the "home invasion suspect". I guess that would make the home owner the "suspected shooter". Do we know for sure that something really happened or do we just suspect it? Oh well.

From what the link tells us, I suspect that Walter Williams is dead and gone.

Mississippi has a pretty good record of not charging shooters protecting themselves and protcting property. Sometimes they even leave me scratching my head. I have read articles that leads me to believe that they have not charged criminals shooting criminals in self defense. One of the best states for legal firearms owners and carriers. No permit needed. I will look it up but the law did read something along the lines "that during a break in, the home owner shall be presumed in fear of their life". To me that means they can't even question if you felt threatened. I will look it up and if I am way off base I will post it.

Isn't that the definition of castle doctrine? The fact that someone broke into your home is enough to allow you to terminate them. You don't need any other reason. And that's the way it should be.

After they break in you shouldn't have to wait and see if they are intending to do you bodily harm, you can assume they will do that if given the chance, so don't give them that chance.

Win-win. Homeowner turns the opponent into a client, and society benefits.

It also appears in Mississippi that it extends to vehicles, tents, porches, ect.

Domicile is the word. Their 2A laws were one of the best things about living in MS for a while.
