If I was in Canada I'd want somebody to rescue me too.

We don't have any dogs as of the moment, but I thought you might like a photo of Dougie the Puggie:

How About A Pet Picture Thread: Dogs, Cats, ...-8682759729_90f41405a9_o.jpg

He lives at my grand daughter's and was a rescue. He had somehow gotten his hind leg entangled in a plastic thingy that holds six Coke bottles. It was so tight, the vet at first thought he would have to remove his leg, but they slaved over him and saved the leg. Now he is spoiled beyond belief and my grand daughter and her husband have decided they would just adopt him themselves. I used to not like Pugs much, but who could possibly not like that innocent face?

My daughter, has always had large dogs...... but ... every time she sees a bulldog she loves them, and goes crazy. She has one on the end of her run, and was talking about a dog. She started talking what kind again, and I told her please............ just go get the bulldog that you've always wanted. Now, she's talking bulldog, the more she thought about it .... the more she liked the idea. It would be spoiled rotten.

Any things to watch for on them ?

This is my 4th Bulldog - they aint cheap, he was 2k in 2016 (AKC limited registration)
IME with Bulldogs skin issues are the main problem (due to loose skin, wrinkles), however with the current dog we really don't have skin issues, perhaps its due to feeding him better quality food than prior dogs.
Bulldogs sleep a lot, good for when we both worked all day, dog content to nap.
They typically have a "jovial" personality, love people, tolerant of other dogs.
Can be stubborn, food treats work well for training.

Some cute Bulldog pups available in KS ....

I always cut those things up, even the littlest holes.
But he's NOT spoiled, just being repaid for all of the wonderful things he does for your grand daughter. And he probably deserves even more than can ever be given.
But then how do you measure love? Why would you want to?

If anyone wonders why the heck they (Bulldogs) cost so much...
Breeding likely involves a vet, female can't support weight of male and has to be artificially inseminated.
Birth likely require c-section, pups heads are too big for natural birth.
Tend to have/birth less pups than a Lab, GSD.
4th most popular dog breed according to AKC

PSA for the single guys reading this.... (I'm happily married but even with my wife present, the dogs attract women)
I've joked I should have named Bulldog "Chick Magnet" because of how women are drawn to him, Tractor Supply, pet store, beach, ect...
GSD draw attention from females too, waitress at restaurant always pet him, couple took his pic. one even gave him a bandana.
