I'm very short and I gain about 10lbs every year between Halloween and Easter. I struggle to get it back off by mid summer (and succeed) but this has gone on for years. I've been reading up about keto, and I'm going to try it next week....I hope I can make it a lifestyle change. I know how to do low carb and I like that diet but when I go off, I gain it all back... So I'm going to severely limit white sugar and lower carbs and see what happens. I know 10 lbs doesn't sound like much, but I'm under 5' and when I hit 10 over, nothing in my closet fits except my flip flops, and I get real motivated. I just can't stand the way I do this to myself every year and I can't seem to make it stop!

Anyway, I'm classed as a 'little person'. But I've still got the curves.
Thin crust pizza should be banned, especially those Jack's frozen pizzas.

I have been doing A.D.F. - Altenate Day Fasting.

It's NOT a total "fast" - just keep the fast day between 400 & 500 calories.

I am not doing it for weight loss. I feel fantastic on it.

I am not fanatical about it. If we go out to dinner then I will eat a good meal on a fast day.

Nobody is standing over me with a whip so...I never punish myself.

I just get back on it a.s.a.p.

We pretty much all eat too much food in general.

They say "Half of what you eat belongs to you....the other half belongs to your Doctor."

If you want to try it....stay hydrated on your fast day.

I do black coffee, water, & unsweetened tea w/ a scoop of Country Farms Berry Super Greens.

    Thumbs up

There is abundant proof that some people eat in excess of the amount needed for daily nutrition and good health.

So True. So True. The most worthwhile sentence of the day.

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 3.5 years ago and my wife did some web investigation and came up with Joel Fuhrman's book "The End of Diabetes: The Eat to Live Plan to Prevent and Reverse Diabetes"

It got me off the Metformin for 3 years and I lost about 70 pounds (which also got rid of my constant knee and back pain) in the process. We do not stick to the diet as we should but we use a lot of his teachings in our daily diet. We eat a lot of beans n greens daily.
