Great reading and a fitting tribute to great men. Too many do not remember.

In my small town there are four Medal of Honor veterans buried dating bat to the civil war and some veterans from the Revolution.

We also receive Imprimis. It is free and always well worth reading. Someone signed me up to receive it. I have no idea who, but have been grateful to the mystery person!

This issue provided MUCH food for thought and reminders that respect for our military is a forever thing.

I like Cotton. He will sit in the Oval Office someday.

Memorial Day is Lee Greenwood, God Bless the USA. The guy can bring it.

I don't like war. But they happen anyway. So this is my contribution for Memorial Day:

    The Bulge...

My dad was there and got shot to pieces. That in addition to frostbite on both feet.

He turns 95 in two weeks. A tough ol' bird.

A severe thunderstorm Thursday failed to stop a sentinel from placing a flag at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. (3d U.S. Infantry Regiment)

I'll add this, since I already posted a thread on this. Tom Cotton's great book is available on Amazon and they have it in the Kindle electronic edition at a good price. It is a book that I plan on getting everyone in my family to read. You can read a section of the book to see if you like it. Here is the link.

Not even Hurricane Sandy was enough to cause The Old Guard to relinquish their posts.

A bit of history of Decoration/Memorial Day.

    Memorial Day

Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Memorial Day 2019 occurs on Monday, May 27.

Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season.
