I celebrated the 4th by performing long-overdue oil changes on both cars in the driveway in 90-degree heat. The rest of the day was just relaxation, beer and fireworks. :)

We got 2.81” here in under 2 hours, and a sinkhole about a mile away.

I spent the morning getting a buddy and his son onto a few catfish like this. They don’t have a boat and haven’t found a place to hook into beasts like this, so we all had an absolute blast.

I took the Grandkids to the Fireworks show at the lake. They had a DJ, Fire Spinners, Fire trucks on display, They let the kids spray the small fire hose, They had an agility dog course set up, etc... But the two year olds favorite thing was two news crews setup and flew their drones over the crowd during the show! The fireworks did not matter It's like he was at a Drone Show!

But we all had a good time! DR

You wouldn't catch me in that Thai water. I've know what floats in it.

And the Ganges and the Mekong and....

But then again, look at the people getting infected (at least one dying) in the waters off our coasts.

Thanks for your service OldVet, and the others on this board.

Good point. If it doesn't eat your flesh, it eats your brain. At least I am safe against the latter.

All alone at the range today. 375 rounds later there still isn't anyone to disturb me. I'm tellin' ya it's a rough life!

Sure do like my Taurus TX22 and Ruger SR22!

I spend some time in prayer every Independence Day thanking God for our country's Founding Fathers, expressing my gratitude to Him for those in this country's history who have fought, bled and died in service of this country, and then asking for deliverance from the preponderant evil in this country and in the world. The longer I am here, the more I look forward to going Home.
