And one day they run into the likes of this LEO who plants stuff solely to run up his arrest numbers... Now they are criminals and see LE differently forever.

So much for being an honest citizen thinking you are doing right.

Realty TV cop shows only air what they deem the most interesting/entertaining scenarios. The bulk of the footage is mundane traffic stops/tense scenario's where no one is arrested which no one ever sees. Hell, if you think it's real time TV to begin with, well, you know------------

Of course it's edited to death, but there is still plenty enough captured on tape to make a hungry lawyer's mouth salivate.

So when these people were arrested and booked, I assume "their" meth would be impounded as evidence. So where was the cop getting his meth for the next time? Was he stealing from the evidence room? Did he have his own little stash somewhere from shaking down dealers or other meth heads?

In the words of Hillary, what difference does it make?

There is no reason to ever consent to a search. Similarly there is no reason to engage law enforcement officers any more than necessary to be able to move on with your life. I have nothing to hide but I also enjoy the liberty that is suppose to come with being a United States citizen. Not consenting is an affirmation of that liberty and it just may protect you from jackhneads like this soon to be imprisoned piece of work.

Last time I was pulled over, the LEO claimed he smelled Christmas cards. I knew that was a lie! The dog proved it.

Wouldn't a mandatory review of all body cam footage be required?
If it wasn't on all the time...How can a case be held up?
Where was the cop getting the drugs...Evidence locker?.

Just another example of bad apples being everywhere....Even in law enforcement
Not without probable cause. A cop can ask for you consent any time. But if you don't provide consent, the cop can't just call backup if there is no PC.

I will never consent to a search in a traffic stop.

My eldest is getting her license soon. I'm constantly drilling her to never consent to a search.

So i guess what your saying is....Make sure when you roll your window down weed smell doesn't roll out of your car....Make sure your beer isn't sitting in the car.
Of course if there is no probable cause they can't....That is for the judge to sort out...But at the time of the stop the LEO has control of the situation not the driver.
Rather he is right or wrong at the time....I guess it depends on if you are hiding something or not...Kind of like the open carry argument...You can be doing nothing wrong
but still have to deal with the time and hassle of getting it sorted out when it becomes a issue.

One of the reasons why I don't like laws banning filming a LEO doing his job.
Refuse a search, wait for the K9, film anytime LEO is near vehicle, film K9.
Now if they put you in cuffs first, might be enough to cast reasonable doubt?
But bad meat leaves a stink even when it's gone.
