I was at that mall a lot when I was in the Army and since then. I lived there for about 6 years.

Memphis -- No. 2 on the list of most crime ridden cities in America. Working on being No. 1 but we just can't catch Detroit.

New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker and Montana Gov. Steve Bullock have already given public statements calling for more gun control. That didn't take long.

Got the shooter alive. There were, however, multiple reports of more than one shooter.

Based on what Iíve read, Iíd be surprised if this doesnít turn out to be cartel related, or something more than just wanting to shoot random people.

Nah...It appears the targets were random. No real info out there yet though.

Sounded to me like a whack job. At least 2 people interviewed said it started in the parking lot and appeared to be random.

Booker's "dipping in the cool-aid and he doesn't even know the flavor". As for Steve Bullock, he looks like he should be selling used cars.

    Remember- 3 shots, 3 seconds, 3 yards...

Anything further is murder, NOT defense.

Of all places, I would think an El Paso Walmart on Saturday morning would have some people shooting back.

I don't care what type of weapon you carry, some of your practice needs to be at extended ranges (50 - 100 yards).

Active Shooter Response- Assess the situation, Position yourself to gain tactical advantage, Engage perpetrator violently (APE).

When shopping at Walmart, remember that even serial killers need to buy toilet paper.

So many crazy people running around. Of course, they'll blame the firearm. And this is making me more nervous about shopping at WalMart. And why so much violence at WalMarts?

You and everyone else here are welcome to plan and practice however you like. No matter what the situation, I will not be trading rounds with a rifleman at that range unless I am just providing suppressive fire. At that range, the guy with the rifle has the advantage. My strategy will be one of two things: find cover and/or an escape route OR find a way to get up closer to him. I guarantee you, if two equally skilled shooters, one with a rifle and one with a handgun take each other on at 50-100 yds. the rifleman will win the vast majority of the time.

Switch places. The active shooter has a handgun and you have a rifle. You are going to win, right? I hope so!

They are now reporting that 15-20 have been hit. A 21-year-old suspect is in custody.
