Thanks. I am about 10 miles from Charleston harbor, so that helps. Downtown floods just with a king tide and no rain, so a king tide, 15" of rain and the storm surge is probably gonna be rough there. My neighborhood is full of tidal creeks and I can see the Cooper River form my porch. That is a tidal river I guess it could flood. I still see freighters heading out to see.

    Hoping for the best!

Such clever adjectives used on the TV coverage to describe the hurricane, and then the wind, and rain.

Just this morning, the rain was "lashing" Daytona.

It started at 9:00PM tonight; WNCN Channel 17 CBS in Raleigh has gone to full blown weather panic mode. All regular programming is preempted in favor of a constant droning of how far the storm has moved and where itís headed next. Guess I will go to Channel 11 for the local news tonight.

So far nothing. Some wind. Predicting 105 mph winds by morning though.

So far, it's been a non event. I'm two miles East from I-95/204 not really on the coast.

I'll go check the store for damage after the sun gets up.

    Finally have:
    -electricity
    -cell phone
    -internet

Woohoo! Things got a little primitive until the utilities were fixed. We got lucky and had very easy storm. Wind only gusted to 70-80 and the sustained winds were around 50 or so. Rain was not nearly as bad as predicted and more importantly the storm surge was not much. Dorian stayed just far enough off the coast. This was probably the most drawn out hurricane I remember. Everyone was so sick of waiting for it to finally arrive and get over with. Must be because the gov'ts now just declare an emergency right away before we even know where storms are going. Overall a very easy storm. Hope everyone else had it easy too.

Goldsboro had the most winds inland at 53mph, I had no damage at all but heading into town one of the neighbors had a blooming pear damaged and a small tree by the VFD was damaged. Didnít lose power so I didnít have to watch TV by candle light. River is up a couple of feet but nowhere near flood level but some of the low spots that normally flood did. The outer banks did not fare as well with extensive damage and flooding, those folks have a long recovery ahead of them.
