    Proud Dad

All dads get a touch of pride every time the kids cross key milestones... first steps, first words, first dates, first drivers license, etc.

My son recently hit 21 years on the planet, took a carry class on his own, and obtained his VA carry permit. Today between college classes and work he hit the range and texted a pic of a target, a mag's worth at 10 yards.

And well you should be. My congratulations, and a "Well done!", to both of you.

    Great job by all involved!!

Dad, this didn't happen of its own volition!

I'd like to think so, but even parents can only do so much. He's turned into a great young man by his own choices.

As a dad I love all my kids, but what's really cool is I also like them as people. Getting a text from the range to tease me while I'm slogging through work... pure awesome.

SOMEBODY set him a fine example. I’ll bet it was you. BZ :)

That's for shootin' sure good shootin' .... and if he didn't have that one flyer in the 8 ring I might think the shooting was done a lot closer.

Sounds like your son and mine would be good friends.
At 25 has his LTC, bought his own pistol, graduated college and has an awesome job as a professional mariner
It is quite satisfying. I know how you feel brother.

That's some dang fine shootin'. It's nice to hear of something good about a young person. You have raised a fine young man.

G-dude, good on your son, and good on you.

As an aside, I suspect that a majority of us fine folks hereabouts have success stories about kids and grandkids, all in a time when millennials seem to be on the failure track.

    Yup.
