Didn't care for it. None of the apple-flavored ones either. The honey-flavored ones are good for barbecue sauces.

I'm not a big whiskey afficianado or anything, but I've never much cared for any kind of "added flavoring" in whiskey. Whiskey's supposed to be the flavor!

Can't stand the thought of mixing whiskey with soda pop, either. I drink it either straight, or with a little water, or sometimes club soda. That's it.

I was raised on high-quality Scotch.
But as I aged, it didn't.

Then, after receiving some good advice (on a shooting forum, for gosh sakes), I switched to really good Bourbon.
It was a marriage made in Heaven!

The best part was that Bourbon, used abstemiously, was not only delicious, but also an excellent pain medication...for a while.
    Then, things got worse.

Now any kind of alcohol at all--even the yummiest cider--destroys my most important pharmaceutical pain medication.
So now I can't drink an alcoholic drop!
    Dang!

I'm a bourbon and Coke guy. I sip it straight on occasion, but it's the exception.

I've tried hydrocodone, oxycodone, and a few other meds for my chronic back pain, and they had no effect on me at all. Nada, zippo, nilch. Bourbon worked, and still does.

They've given me Methotrexate, and it works!
But if I take a sip of an alcoholic drink, Zippo...There it goes.

    I self-inject one milliliter (one cc), once-a-week.
It was prescribed by a rheumatologist. You might ask about it.

The injection sites give me "tracks."
Some day, some cop might see the pinprick scars and ask what it's about.
    I'll answer, "Methotrexate."
And the cop will exclaim, "Meth...What?"
And then I'll be in trouble.

    Inject? Ah . . . no. I have injectophobia.

Think of it as improving upon the taste of coca-cola or a club soda.

I’m on methotrexate as well, but oral, not injection, also once a week.

I need to be careful of my alcohol intake (never more than two drinks in a sitting, and try to keep under 4 drinks a week, and no alcohol on the same day I take the pills).

    It's worked well so far.

I do know that prior to hip replacement #1, alcohol was definitely the best OTC pain reliever I could find...I didn’t go for any of the “hard stuff”(oxy, et al) until after surgery, and then I weaned off in about 10 days; didn’t care for it, don’t see how people think it's a “fun” drug...just made me feel mentally slow, and I had, umm...no “filters” when it came to saying stuff.

How my wife put up with me for that week, I have no idea...

Whatever liquor I drink is straight up, no ice or mixers. I will drink most any liquor except gin. It reminds me of drinking a Christmas Tree. I prefer heavily peated single-malt scotches from Islay. My favorite is Ardbeg Corryvreckan which is 114.2 proof.

For me most of my Bourbon is either Makers Mark, or Makers Mark 46.

For other "hard stuff" Jameson and Redbreast for Irish whiskey.

I've also been known to dabble in gin and vodka every once in a while.

I have been known to keep a bottle of Smirnoff 100 proof vodka in the freezer during the summer.
