Nail in coffin for me.
Why even go down this road?
NASCAR rejected advertisements for its souvenir programs from multiple firearms companies earlier this summer as part of what is being seen as a "gradual shift" in its position on guns....

I took a stand by banning nascar in my house. That frees up more time for loading ammo and sharing gun memes.
We get the government we deserve.
This is just the beginning of an avalanche of guns and gun owners being disowned. I will tell y'all again...we are hitched to a falling star.. Gun ownership is going to be stopped in our children's lifetimes. The liberals have had their way with this...it is only a matter of one more generation...they have won. We simply do not have the numbers to stop it.

I'm no racing fan, but it seems all the left turns on the track has seeped into the front office. Why support our domestic enemies? Can you imagine what Leftist Ecofascists would do to motor racing if Leftists own all three branches of the government, plus all schools, plus all of the media? NASCAR supports Freedom's and their own destruction.

Because they can get away with it.
Nike, NFL, now NASCAR. The revenue decline will be a small dip but on the longer timeline, they have a fan base and everyone seems to forget eventually.
Lest we forget about Ruger's caving on 2A issues in the past. Plenty still support them.
"But new ownership, but that's in the past" but nothing. Same principle.
Nascar has been moving away from the base that built the sport for quite some time. Ironically, the base has been eroding as the swing to be socialist has gotten worse. Socialists ruin everything they touch.
Watching cars drive around a circle has never fascinated me, my "boycott" began decades ago.

I’m not much of a NASCAR fan either, but I certainly hope that NASCAR sponsors that sell firearms, like Bass Pro Shops, will yank their funding over this. Maybe THAT will actually show up on their radar!
NASCAR itself will be banned soon by the leftists anyway... unless they start running hybrids or all-electric cars. Just think of all the global warming caused by those engines.
Larry the Cable Guy made a joke several years ago about NASCAR becoming sponsored by feminine hygiene products... I guess he saw it coming!
There is a trend for sure in the commercial sector to do something, anything.
But it is not too late to tell a better story. A story about the millions and millions of people who have weapons for the purpose of keeping themselves and their family safe.
The biggest spokesman for the gun community whether you are for them or not has been the NRA. Instead of wielding their power and PR machine to build a positive image of us TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, they have been LASER FOCUSED ON ROUSING pro-gun people to the total exclusion of the general public. Where are the paid ads that tell a better story? Where are the ads that try to reach people who simply don't know all sides?
(On the positive side, the NRA has been excellent in being the watch/attack dog on politicians. Hats off to them for that.)
All I am saying is we need to reach the large swath of people that are not crazy extreme lefties or extreme righties. But we haven't done that. Frankly, we haven't even tried. And honestly, I blame the NRA for that. It's called leadership, and it's lacked it for years. And it's going to cost us dearly. We should have seen this coming.
I don't believe guns will ever be banned in America, but I do believe if that middle swath continues to see heals so dug in that no progress is made, there will come a tipping point. For the sake of our children we need to be the leadership that the NRA has failed to be.
End of rant...

I grew up literally in NASCAR's backyard. MY parents were aviators. and I spent a lot of time at the Charlotte airport where several drivers and teams were based. I've bent over the fenders while Buddy Baker's mechanics worked on his cares, played in Fireball Roberts and Ned Jarrett's wrecked cars, wandered around the old Holman & Moody facility. Kids used to go to fisticuffs over who the best driver was or which cars were fastest.
Then came the "super" speedways and their restrictor plates? Really? You want to slow down a racing car? The instead of using real cars, they switched to same-mold cars, differing only in the details. Now it 10-minute yellow flags so everyone gets a fair turn in the pits, and they're often scheduled. Really? Pitting is racing? I remember when lug wrenches were used to change tires, not air drills.
Drivers used to win by several laps on a good Sunday. Now NASCAR wants that cut down to 10 cars within a bumper length. Adding politics to the the mix will only drive the knife deeper into NASCAR's back.
NASCAR--stick to racing, and I mean let the best car and driver win. The rest can figure out afterwards how he did it.

I have been a fan of motorsports all my life. NASCAR was one of my least favorites but I sill watched a lot of it. Then 2+ years ago I "cut the cable". I have seen maybe 3 or 4 races, a couple NASCAR and a couple Indy car, in that time. NASCAR has become history to me. They can hit the kill switch and I won't notice.
