    Whoa!!

Talk about a hair raising experience. This reminds of driving my Grandmother's Mercury Brougham in 1976 and having the hood to blow up...that was a close call.

That would put the pucker factor off the scale.

That was bad, and I don't know how he avoided a wreck. It was cool headed of him, to handle it like that.

I was pleased to see that the driver immediately pulled over...to his left, as it was the only way to go.
I suppose that he rolled his side window down, so he could stick his head out and get some amount of forward vision.

I would have slowed down, just as he did, and started my 4-way flashers.
That tells other people that there's something wrong.

The camera is in the middle of the windshield. If you look to the very bottom, left you can see that the plastic didn't go all the way to the left edge. The driver likely had a small sliver of viewable area up the left side in which to come to a safe stop. Not to diminish the great job they did in remaining calm in a harrowing situation.

Reminds me of the story an ole buddy told. This guy never tied anything down when he hauled it. He was taking a mattress and box spring set to his weekend house and the mattress blew out of the bed of his truck and landed on the hood and windshield of a state trooper's car before gaining traction on the highway with the trooper then running over the mattress. Damned lumpy mattress to sleep on.

When I worked at a weigh station, we used to stop a lot of trucks and tell them to remove or secure loose materials and wrappings.
