Indeed. If conservatives jump from California to thoroughly conservative states, they will only cede ground to liberals, who are actually invading marginally conservative states, turning them blue.

On the other hand, if conservatives adopted the same tactic, they could take back some of those moderately blue states, like Colorado.

With all due respect, I find your question out of line and a bit insulting. I am not a general in this fight. The ground is not mine to hold or cede. I am no hero in this fight, but I have been a good foot soldier. I will claim I have done a good bit more than the average person at protecting and defending the Constitution and in being active in the fight for gun rights. If every gun owner and every true conservative had done as much as I have, we would not be in this situation. 2A would be secure and we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I don't take kindly the implication that I am beating some cowardly retreat. What I have worked for is to not live under oppression. But if I find myself under oppression and I can't fix it, if not enough like-minded people are willing to join the effort, I will escape that oppression. I only have a certain number or years left on this Earth and I want to live them as freely as I can. I feel I deserve that. I also believe there are certain areas that can hold out for the remainder of my lifetime.

As far as the metaphor of a "cancer metastasizing," I will tell you how I see that cancer. It is not liberals and socialists and gun grabbers. They have always been there, waiting to do what they are now doing. The cancer is apathy on our side. It is gun owners and conservatives not stepping up and just letting this travesty happen. We have the numbers to sway almost any election in almost any district in the country. But we don't. Our freedom is not being taken. We are giving it up. Our whole community is "ceding the ground" by passively surrendering. I am one of the last people who should be blamed out for that.

Well I'm glad I caught you in a good mood. The question asked had little to do with you personally and more about the idea we've all had for so long about just moving out of places that turn blue in favor of those more to our liking politically, and what I see as how futile that can soon become. You're only insulted if you want to be sir. I meant no insult.

Some people need to lighten up a bit.
Most if not all of the stuff we post is not a personal insult and should not be viewed in that manner.
I try not to get my kilt all twisted.

I agree with you, and that is often a problem within social media. Folks are rightly very passionate about their views here on DC....as it should be. Unfortunately, at times we take responses personally, when most of the time, (but not always), the comments are not personal attacks.

Don’t blame you about avoiding a twisted kilt....that could be painful!

It's a good thing I do not take anything y'all say as a personal insult.
