I can offer this. The folks who get easily offended by "gallows humor" reveal the absolute truth that they have never, ever, faced horrible situations in life. Those dark jokes keep the human spirit from being overwhelmed by the horror.

The trick for chaplains is keeping such "jokes" out of the pulpit.

I am sure it's a fine line you have to straddle when you are in that position. I also sure that folks like you and Chaplain Scott are masters at it and your fellow officers have a deep appreciation for what you have contributed.

A fellow pastor of another denomination and I often had coffee together (because we were the only people we could talk to about some things) and he told me he and his wife were having some marital....issues.

Then I got a call on a Monday morning from one of his parishioners that during his Sunday morning sermon he said something along the lines of....

"Having sex with my wife is like wrestling with a drunken bear."

Sometimes you win the battle, sometimes you flame out and crash!

    That is some serious unhappiness

I'd spend all of my time there.

The Epstein humor serves a purpose. It ensures the story doesn't just disappear as the left would like.

The dude was evil and deserved a horrific death. But it would have been better to have got him to squeal on the many others who also committed atrocities so they too could be held accountable.

The #metoo crowd is notably silent.

So yeah, I'm going to keep the Epstein jokes going as long as possible too, to expose the left and biased media for what it is.

I actually appreciated it when a Holy Joe went that direction myself. Of course, some can pull it off and others......

You know, there are times when reality trumps all attempts at humor (gallows or not).

    This just in from FOX:

I read all the above jokes and was hurt... because I fell out of my chair laughing so hard!
If I start reading a joke or article that may offend me I quit reading!
But all the above jokes were priceless. If only I could remember them after closing the thread!
