Anybody want to make any predictions for 2020 or 2025?

I remember back in the 60s some of the crazy predictions that were made for the year 2000. I think we exceeded some of those. Thought it might be fun to make some predictions for 2020 or even 2025. We will have night time savings time next year for people who like to sleep in.

Around February 2020 arrest warrants will be issued for Trump's family. My guess they'll start with Jared Kushner.

    Easy ones for 2020:
    • Trump will be fully acquitted by the Senate in the impeachment trial
    • Trump will win the presidential election.
    • The Dems will hold the House in the elections, but the Republicans will hold the Senate.
    • None of us will get Christmas cards from OV.

    2025:
    • Trump will leave office at his appointed time, having appointed two or three more SCOTUS justices and gotten them confirmed, as well as having reformed a lot of of the circuit courts.
    • The loony left will still be around, but the public will have gotten tired of them. They will have lost influence.
    • A moderate Dem will get in as president, the Dems will still have the House and the GOP will still have the Senate.
    • No one here will still have ever gotten a Christmas card from OV.

Ok.. Trump winds big in 2020 and for 2024, I vote for Raymond Reddington..

I can't think of anyone else who could fallow Trump, and keep this country on the right path.

I agree with everything except the House. I think the Republicans will take it back. The dems got it in an off year election with a lot of seats in Trump districts. They had a better turnout and their base was motivated. 2020, the good people will be motivated to vote plus they will be out voting for president anyway. The dems in the House completely disgraced themselves with their term in power. The decent people of America see this very clearly.

I hope you're right, but with all the gerrymandering of districts and I think the deck is stacked against it. Election betting odds, which I think are more accurate than polls, are 3:1 that the Dems keep the House.

That is a good point. I am hoping that 2018 was more the disgruntled losers of 2016 being more motivated to go out and vote. The Republicans did themselves no favors during Paul Ryan's last term. Hopefully, with a chance to start fresh without Ryan, and the Americans seeing the loon antics of the dems, enough decent people will be motivated. This could turn out to be a historic win. We already have a NJ dem switching parties over impeachment. No one even thought Trump could win the nomination. I saw him speak aboard the USS Yorktown back when he had all the opponents in the race. I knew then he had it. Politics is different now with Trump. I think the conventional wisdom could be completely wrong again.

Prediction for 2020, based on the very words of the several Democrats and their minions (a certain teacher comes to mind), I see the violence escalating. Either the Democrats will successfully steal the election and their followers will carry out their threats of revenge or their followers will revolt and there will be wide-spread riots.

    @jmf552

There is also this week's election in Britain that I think may be a predictor of things to come.

The big question is: Does that only apply to Trump, or does it apply to all Republicans? I don't see anyone like Trump in the GOP. In fact, I see more uninspiring RINOs every election. They are not appealing to the base Trump is.

Our recent election loss in VA was yet another mid-term sign. I'm working this fight against the Dem trifecta in VA and their slate of heavy gun control proposals. It is obvious to me that it wasn't so much the Dems won as the GOP threw the election and continue to work against conservative values.

There are still "never Trumpers" in the GOP and the gun community! Republicans Walsh and Sandford are continuing to run against Trump as independents, even though they admit they know they can't win. Their motive? To divide the conservative vote just enough to make sure the Dems beat him. That's just insane.

This sounds pretty likely to me. The libs don't quit when they lose - they double down on trying to make the country ungovernable.

Yeah, that's really interesting. What remains to be seen is:
    • What will be the economic implications of a no-deal Brexit
    • Will Scotland secede from Britain?
    • Will any other countries secede from the EU?

If it is only Britain that leaves the EU and it really messes up the economy, I think the Johnson phenomenon will be short lived. The Brits have a way of turning on a dime against their heroes.
