    Radio Shack and firearms

I couldn't find my little driver to replace the clip on my Benchmade Griptillian. The Radio Shack that I use to go to closed down. I live between to towns so I went to the other town that still has a Radio Shack. Their business model apparently is what's keeping them open. They sell firearms, knives, ammo, and do transfers. Radio Shack selling firearms. Long guns and handguns, kind of caught me off guard.

Do the guns have radios in them? Ha, ha.

"Big" city, no Radio Shack. Small town, Radio Shack. Go figure. I have to drive about a half-hour drive to get there. Never gone in. I miss the electronic parts selection.

If Radio Shack doesn't have the driver, I finally found a nice kit at Ace that fit the little Torx screws on my knives

The last Radio Shack we had anywhere near here turned into a phone store but it eventually went the way of the dodo.

Gotta be 'independent' store franchise..... Still cool to hear about. I was passing through Mississippi last week and several 'different' things caught my eye....

If it keeps the customers coming, then more power to 'em I say.

This was the most interesting thing I saw in Tennessee when visiting there a few years ago...

We may think the Dodo is gone, but I have it on good authority that HE LIVES!

My experience with Radio Shack is very similar to what MSGT/Ret described. It went from electronics only, to a phone store with some electronics. Then, it went away. Killed by cheap electronics not worth fixing.

I haven't seen a Radio Shack in close to 10 years now. Hardware stores that sell guns... Otasco. Also happen to k ow of a few stores that reach back several years, that I've seen. An Alco, Pamida, and not one but 3 IGAs. Ain't none of them here in town with me, however.

Too bad the Radio Shack employees had extremely limited knowledge of electronics. But, I do miss being able to run out and get parts. Now I have to order online and usually in bulk quantities and try to figure out what to do with the extra 999 pieces left over. Most "brick&mortar" stores are going away in favor of on-line shopping anyway. But, we can't do online shopping and have the gun sent straight to us. So, LGS and FFL will still be around for awhile (unless the Democrats get their way).
