I heard on the news that the Real ID effective date was delayed

    Yes!
The "Real ID" Facial Recognition Flat Tracking Device deadline has been extended...just FYI.
It was on the news. Not the fake news.

Maybe so, but my license is up in May and if I don't get the passport I'll have to go with the regular license, then pay again to get the Real ID so I can fly if necessary. With family in NY with a new grandchild any day now, that's a possibility.

Ironically, the delay is saving me the money that @RedSafety will most likely have to pay. I got my license renewed the month before the new IDs were put in place in Wisconsin. They are good for 8 years. This fall was going to be the date of forced renewals to get the new Real ID license. The time between their initial release, and the original forced renewal date was 7 years.

Here in Lake Charles, La wife and I doing good. Both retired so we staying home or in yard. Have food for probably 2 months or more, but our son & daughter said they would get anything we need from store. Locally we have several cases of the virus which means there are probably more. Lot of businesses closed, casinos closed, but all plants/refineries operating full go. Restaurant’s either closed or to-go orders only. Not worried about ourselves or son/dnl ho are nurses so they have jobs, daughter/snl work for refinery so they won’t loose job. But do have worries for friends temporarily out of jobs. People going nuts over food & toiletries still. But understand some items starting to show up again. Always carry regardless but seems crime is not creeping up, at least for now. Our church broadcast on FB or live stream on website, so we good there. Unfortunately my feeling is our economy for US is going to get hit hard, many mom/pop business are going to fold, unemployment will rise. But we will recover, slowly. Personally glad Trump will win re-election again.

Status quo here in down east Maine. As I mentioned before my wife and I both work at the local hospital, she manages the imaging dept and I'm the cardiopulmonary dept supervisor so work isn't an issue. However, business in the hospital in general is way down, patients are canceling elective procedures, some surgeons have put their elective procedures on hold, ER traffic is down as many folks are being routed through their PCPs and many others are choosing to cope with whatever minor issue they'd come to the ER for under normal circumstances. Because of the decrease in patient traffic some depts are looking at down staffing to save money since there isn't enough work to go around. We haven't had any confirmed cases of Covid-19 in our area yet but the hospital is all geared up for it if/when it gets here.

Nothing different on the farm other than laying in some extra feed just in case. The hens and quail are laying, we've bred a few of our rabbits, we're getting the sows out in the field with the boar, and we're ramping up for planting, all the same stuff we'd normally be doing.

Was at the grocery Sunday and, while they were certainly low on a number of products, overall it wasn't that bad. They had a decent selection of meats, plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, paper towels, some TP, etc.. It wasn't being overrun and folks were behaving civilly. From what I read we've got it better here than a lot of other places.

Scored TP AND paper towels at Sam's Club today. Guess I won't have to rent that carpet shampooer now.

I was just standing out back with the dogs, nice day for a cloudy 40 some. Then I hear a familiar “Paching-thwack.” After the first one I went into scan/shot locator mode. With the second one I saw the neighbor kid and his pellet gun three houses down close the sliding glass door to their deck in a hurry.

I laughed, by 5th grade I had learned to shoot through an open window, not stick the gun out of it, duh....

Just attempting to think outside the box here.

Should things get to the future place in time where folks are going to need to go out.
    Especially those at higher risk.
Obviously wearing masks will take on even more importance.
People may not have enough masks until production ramps way up.

The N95 masks are supposed to be "one time use" & then discard.

    On reusing masks.
What about using a spray bottle of 70% alcohol and wetting an entire mask down at the end of the day. Allowing it to dry out naturally overnight and then being able to safely wear the same mask the following day?

Your thoughts on that. ? Technically that should be effective in neutralizing any virus on the mask.
    Chime in.

Great to get all these projects that were on the back burner done!

CWO has been painting on the inside and doing yard work.

Already getting hot, Summer comes in March in these parts then it turns into what one would call seconds from hell hot in June, July and August.

Planting/gardening but having to come in for breaks every hour. Azaleas in the back, bulbs in the beds, flower seeds in the ground.

After I made a political donation, I just happened to look out of the window and I saw someone dressed in a whimsical Tyrannosaurus Rex costume walking by on the far side of the street. Coincidentally, my neighbor's wife and small child happened to be out in the front of the house. The costumed person noticed and posed for a mobile phone photo. Then he/she kept on truckin' up the street, occasionally waving to the meager passing traffic. It brought a laugh.

Found this answer to that exact question.

So, no, the alcohol will not work but other methods are discussed.
