I don't love Spam, but I have eaten it at various times. I have some on the shelf for moments just like this. My wife hates it.

Then I hear the song "I like my women a little on the trashy side" (by Confederate Railroad) playing in the background!

Some years ago, you could buy smoked Spam. Fry it up and put it in a sandwich and it is actually not bad.

One of the best breakfast meats is Rapa Scapple with Bacon. It's got small bits of bacon mixed in with the scrapple. Cooked up crispy it is quite good with scrambled eggs and rye toast.

My mom used to serve Scrapple when I was a kid. I liked it. I have no problem with Spam when it's cooked, but it's just not great. Uncooked definitely is not a good way to have it.

Sliced about 1/4" thick, fried crispy on both sides, slice of cheddar cheese melted on top, served on bread or toast with some spicy brown mustard. I have changed several peoples' minds about Spam. Pretty good campfire food, should be good for stay-at-home-during-coronavirus.

Sounds like a good way to cook it! Thanks!

Off subject of pickup lines - but you should be staying at home anyway, right???

AND: If you do stay at home, WHY subject yourself to eating Spam in any form when you are at home and have time to cook a real meal?

OK - I suppose it is a guy thing, or something like that.

Last week we had pumpkin macaroni and cheese (a bit of heaven!) for our comfort food treat for two nights, and this week it is lasagna. In fact we are eating the 2nd half of the lasagna this evening. And Gramps helped me make a big batch of "meal in a muffin" muffins which taste a lot like really good carrot cake, except they are a lot healthier. It takes a long time to grate the carrots and apples, chop the nuts and raisins and mix all the other ingredients, but SO yummy, and there are a bunch in the freezer now.

ShooterGranny, the spam was something I bought awhile back to throw in the pantry for a time when food supplied might be scarce. It's not part of our regular diet, but it just might come in handy in the future...

Koreans love the stuff. I think I learned how to cook Spam 100 different ways when I was there.
