Wouldn't doing these things help prevent domestic violence?

Not really, wife beaters don't need a reason to hit their spouses. It's just a symptom of being a pathetic, weak man.

I didn't get a warm fuzzy feeling about Malaysia from that piece.

I have never understood why women think the silent treatment is punishment.

Domestic violence is wrong. No woman (person) should need to alter themselves to prevent a partner/spouse from beating them.

From what I read, (unless I got it wrong) the Malaysian All Women's Action Society is correct. The government should concentrate on eliminating domestic violence without the precursor that the female needs to adapt. The Ministry is the one that is wrong by asking women to be something different.

Comb your hair, fix your make-up
Soon he will open the door

    You needn't try any more
For wives should always be lovers, too
