If I'm going to drink a beer (around 2 or 3 times a year) it needs to be Guinness Draft or at the least a really good nut brown ale! Otherwise water is preferable

Basic chemistry would make me think that distilled alcohol would last longer than malted or fermented alcohol.

Years ago, Clint Eastwood said on the Tonight Show that every once in awhile you should expect a Queer beer - one that went bad. Budweiser always fit that definition for me, or even worse, Schlitz.

Beer doesn't last forever, due to the process and what's in it, but if you store whiskey and wine correctly they can last a very long time. Only thing that could affect them is environmental factors - too hot, too cold.

We used to say if you're down to Schiltz you're out of beer. Myself I once had a taste of Hennessy Gold cognac 50 years old and mighty fine.

Everyone knows the answer is three!

I have a bottle of Vodka of my dad’s from 1980, still drinkable. And a 32 yo bottle of SoCo that should last another 15 years.

It is recommended that people age their red wine after purchase. The average American ages their red wine for about a half-hour after they get it home.

My wife's uncle in Portland loved his red wind in a box. We took him to a nice steakhouse in Portland for his 75th. birthday. I ordered a bottle of Cabernet with dinner. He said it was the best wine he ever tasted. After dinner, we were waiting for the valet to bring the car around. He said, "That wine must have cost $20 or $30, let me split the cost with you." I said I had it covered. I didn't have the heart to tell him it was $375.

I have three throw down cans of Falstaff that I keep in the fridge for when the BIL comes over.
    Now he avoids the fridge.

I have a few bottles of old homemade Hibiscus and Blackberry wine that are 20 plus years old. I drank one over the Holidays in 2019 and it was still good. Very good...
