I don't know, but I have a bottle of Jamieson's Irish Whisky that is just about empty that I have probably had open for two years plus.

Oh rats! I thought you wanted to know how long booze lasts before it goes bad.

I was going to say just until it gets in the blood going to your brain. But clearly that isn't what you were asking. My bad!

It evaporates if left too long.

I have a lot of scotch and whiskey. If I had to drink it all in 6 - 8 months, my liver would crap out.

Ditto. Doesn't stay around long enough to go bad. Beer will, unless it's Bud. That stuff is bad when made, so it can't "go bad." It's made from Clydesdales, you know.

It never goes bad but its consumers sometimes do.

Remember when beer was "Aged to perfection"?
Now you have to drink it fresh.
And half of the new brews taste like someone couldn't wait to bottle it till it was done.

As an ex-alcoholic I can say definitely that I would prefer a case of the DT's to a case of Bud.

When I was in Viet Nam in 1965/1966, Bud was the very best beer we could get. Drinking a warm Ba Muoi Ba (33) beer over a chunk of ice from a street vendor was the worst. You didn't finish the beer so as not to disturb the sludge in the bottom of the bottle.

I had one special bottle of 20 year old scotch. Took a drink annually from that bottle on my birthday. Was good for many years - until my mother-in-law found it and emptied the bottle in a single evening. Was none too pleased since I couldn’t afford to replace it.
I find supremely ironic that God in his wisdom and grace has given man freedom of choice bounded by 10 simple rules. Man in his finite wisdom has created millions of rules to limit freedom of choice and the personal responsibility of his fellow man.

On the off chance that the OP used a legitimate question for the title of this thread:

I have a few bottles of various "booze" alcoholic beverages that have been in my cabinet for well over 20 years. Maybe over 30 years? Alcohol is a preservative which keeps things from going bad. If all the alcohol evaporates the rest of what is in the bottle could rot, or whatever, but so far keeping the lids tightly screwed on has seemed to maintain the levels within the bottles.

Beer goes bad. Wine goes bad if not stored properly: Really bad, and it does not turn itself into wine vinegar. It just goes nasty/bad.

The above is not my opinion. It is my actual experience.
Getting old was not on my list of "things to do" in the Golden Years!

Come on now. Bud makes great beer. I drink IPA mostly but Bud is a great standby.
