First US astronauts to be launched into space from American soil in 9 years.

On May 27 at 4:33 EDT two American astronauts will launch from the Cape aboard an American rocket from American soil.
First time since the last shuttle mission In 2011.
Using SPACE X Falcon- rocket with the Dragon Crew Capsule.
I would rather pay SPACE X to put men in orbit than giving the Russians 45-90 million dollars for each seat.
I will be watching it going to be live on The Discovery Channel.

That would be the first public mission in 9 years. NASA and the military are in space regularly in covert fashion.

I wanted to watch the AF vehicle go up the other day--I can watch the launches here 90 miles away--but the visibility was poor and saw nothing. Hopefully it will be better for the astronaut launch.

Its Curmudgeon speak for the sentence can be interpreted two different ways and he's always going to go with the nonsensical.

That I would like to see live, as a kid living on Cocoa Beach in the 1960s I got to watch many Mercury and Gemini missions launch live from Cape Canaveral.

Cool video on a past launch.
Not as impressive as a Saturn V lift off. But the landing is so cool.

Some good information on the Space X rockets.
Nice to see the private sector taking over some of NASA's duties.

And to think, that soft landing was pioneered by the Lunar Lander way way back in the 1960s.
