    Went to the library today....

Here I am, going to the library down in Derby, Ks. Had to pick up some books for the grandson. Saw an interesting sign I haven't seen before. Signs similar to this would be good ones to look for.

Well, no big surprise. But I wonder if the library put it there or someone else.

I've seen seen folks escorted out of the Iowa City Public Library by the ICPD because they're behaving crazy like and stink like a forgotten cat box.

There are no warning signs though, for crazy or stinky folks or guns.

It's a good place to study people, if you're into library types.

The first time we visited Utah we attended a Friend's of the NRA meeting at the local library at our nearby small town. The guy who ran the meeting was open carrying a large semi-auto. While I personally rarely open carry, seeing that no one here got upset was one of the reasons I chose to move to Utah.

The Marion Public Library has a gunbuster sign on the door, which covers both open and concealed carry.

I asked about it when I went to check out. They said as far as they knew, it hasmd been there for a year or so. I've probably seen it several times, but it never stuck in my head long enough to ask. At least they dont ban arry completely. I'm somewhat fine with this. When they throw a no cc sign up there, I'll have to find a different library to go to.

The Marion Public Library is managed by a blithering idiot. I maintain this for two reasons:
    - 89% of mass shootings occur in gun-free zones.
    - Disarming potential victims has, to date, resulted in many times more deaths of victims than saves (if any).

@Workaholic if you took the picture with an iPhone, the DC Forum website software turns the picture like yours when you upload it. To get it to load and display correctly, you have to take the picture in the landscape mode (I think), and it will display okay when uploaded. If you use the preview function prior to posting, you can experiment with your pictures.

My local public library has both a no firearms sign and metal detectors at the entrance. It attracts a lot of homeless persons who hang out there all day. I only get ebooks now and download them to my Kindle online without ever going in person to the library.

Our down town library has at least 4 security guards all the time! Until I was assigned to work there I couldn't imagine why! To get in or out you pass two banks of metal detectors with a guard between them. They had to move the children's room into it's own building to separate the kids from the rest of the " Patrons". They have a long posted list of what you can and can't do in the library! DR

Here in Progressiveville, all public gov't buildings have "No Open Carry" signs, including the libraries, city admin buildings, county admin buildings, county fairgrounds buildings (but they host gun shows there ?!?!?!?), etc. All of this stems from Colorado's CCW law pre-empting local ordnances on concealed weapons, but allowing local control for OC on city and county public property (gov't buildings, parks, etc). This is why I don't bother with OC unless I am on private property or National Park/National Forest/BLM areas.
