    Caveat Emptor/American Gripz

What I did good that was firearms related was to try and spread the word to all 1911 owners about the fraud that has been going on for four or more years by Cavery Grips. He has been taking money from lots of people and not providing mammoth grips that were paid for. He owes me $400 from three years ago, so others and I have been spreading the work over the Internet to warn potential victims. We have made it hot enough for him that he deleted his presence on FB and substituted it with American Gripz, and is using another name. Same grips as well as a new style, same excuses for not providing them. There are many discussions about this on 1911Forum and 1911Addicts, but none here. I maintain a mailing list of victims.

Have you reported him for mail/wire fraud? If there are that many problems, there should be cause for a federal case.

He has been reported to the local Sheriff's Office for prosecution, but I don't know the outcome. I reported him to the BBB, and he said he got a visit from them, not that it does any good.

As for reporting to the Feds, they have bigger fish to fry.

If he's committing fraud across state lines, he's definitely in their jurisdiction. And they certainly won't do anything until it's reported to them--unless one of the FBI agents ordered something too. Feds love easy cases.

That causes a problem for the forum, please edit. You are probably joking, but that doesn't play well regardless.

I don't train to fight some street urchin, I train to fight the evil version of myself, and that person scares me, because I know the time I put into my training on how to beat him.

If this is directed at me, I joined to add my voice to a post already "complaining about a fraudster".

I just sent a complaint to the FBI for Internet Fraud. We'll see how that goes. But since no one seems to know where this guy lives, maybe nothing.
