But HEY!... He'd probably work out perfect singing the National Anthem at NFL pre-game ceremonies.

I read the original Rolling Stone piece when a friend posted it on FB. The interviewer kept probing at political questions that it seemed like Church wasn’t overly interested in answering. He seemed to be generally pro gun but just parrots some talking points. Obviously he was pretty tore up over the Vegas shooting, but I feel like with some good information from the right person he’d probably be easily persuaded, especially on his NRA stance. He seemed to be politically ignorant, but also indifferent. I didn’t think it was as bad as the headline made it out to be.

One user said that he was "done" with the "Record Year" singer.

Dear #EricChurch, when you sing country....it's probably NOT a good idea to insult the #NRA.....

A man, without force, is without the essential dignity of humanity. Human nature is so constituted, that it cannot honor a helpless man, although it can pity him; and even this it cannot do long, if the signs of power do not arise.

My son is 24 and bought himself a record player and collects and plays real country music like Merle. We must have done something right with that one.

Musicians should stick playing music and refrain from using their stage as a political soapbox.

Well, truth be told, The Hag had more than one political commentary tune. But yeah, he did sing his commentary.

Maybe the Dixie Chicks have a spot for him in their band.
