They should allow people to arm themselves and provide security for mass get togethers rather than take away someones right to defend themselves. But it falls on deaf ears because someone has an agenda that doesn't match reality or logic.

If a single terrible event is all it takes to put the entire civilian population of that country on it's knees, I guess those folks really have no use for firearms anyway.

Jacinda Kate Laurell Ardern born 26 July 1980) is a New Zealand politician serving as the 40th and current Prime Minister of New Zealand since 26 October 2017.

She has also served as the Leader of the Labour Party since 1 August 2017.

In 2008, she was elected President of the International Union of Socialist Youth.

Ideologically, Ardern describes herself as both a social democrat and a progressive.

She is the world's youngest female head of government, having taken office at age 37.

During the campaign trail, Ardern expressed her support for decriminalising abortion by removing it from the 1961 Crimes Act.[56]

In September, Ardern said she wanted New Zealand to have a debate on removing the monarch of New Zealand as its head of state.

We don't have to be concerned here though, as we have no such persons in positions of power in our own government.

The liberal socialist's support of banning guns and self-defense makes a much sense as their support of unfettered Muslim immigration and Sharia law which will ban liberal socialists at some point..

Canada. Do some googling, just put in your paragraph and add the word canada to it. Amazing how many muslims are in canada and how fast itís changing.

I donít hate muslims and know some wonderful ppl that are muslims and they donít want everyone killed. Donít know them well enough to discuss why they donít stop the others.

This quote of Dawson leaped out at me: ' ďPersonally, I donít think guns should be legal at all. Maybe in some extreme self-defense, but I donít think they need such firearms like that,Ē Dawson said. '

So, he doesn't think that situation needed extreme self-defense? I'd like to know what he thinks would qualify; or if he thinks at all!

I just heard on ABC World News that there's a big spike in NZ gun sales because their government is planning on making their gun laws more restrictive.

The article quotes one Elliott Dawson who survived a prior mass killing. He states:

He thinks we need guns in America, but they do not need them in New Zealand. He said that in reaction the the Christschurch killing. Some one help this old man whose mind must be slipping. When a bad guy uses a gun to kill 50 good guys Mr. Dawson cannot see the need for guns for self defense. Now that simply defies logic.

New Zealand is well known for its sheep farming. New Zealand lamb chops are amazing. So New Zealanders are reliant upon their sheep. It seems like some of the people have decided to become sheep.
It's frustratingly simple: All of these people want to believe in their hearts that outlawing guns entirely will somehow make all the bad people who do bad things magically transform into model citizens. Timothy McVeigh didn't fire a single shot in Oklahoma City, and look at how many people he killed.

France has much stricter gun laws. Yet they had the Paris attacks, using illegal rifles and IED's, that killed 130; and the Nice attack, which used a truck to kill 80; and the Charlie Hebdo attack, using illegal rifles to kill 12.

I've yet to see any of these "common sense" arguments address this. Obviously only a badly misinformed person could believe that stricter gun regulation would prevent such atrocities.
