Guess they afraid of all the elected Sheriffs.

    This is getting interesting.

Perhaps they are anticipating a large LEO contingent for Lobby Day.

Good! This should help unite police and gun owners.
We get the government we deserve.

WOW! What ARROGANCE exhibited by this delegation. Basically, THEY are exempt from going through metal detectors, the Colonel of the Capital Police said it is not in his authority to go room-to-room to disarm the representatives, but all visitors and guests MUST pass through metal detectors because we want "everyone" to feel safe. So it's "Well, it's a sort of a gun-free zone, and sheriffs and other LEO's that aren't performing official duties must disarm, but we'll not make you pass through the same gates as those commoners (wink wink, nudge nudge, know what I mean? hint hint!)

Sounds to me like they KNOW the impact on public sentiment that the proposed bills of this upcoming session will generate, so they want to make sure the serfs don't rise up against them.

Not merely we plebs but some of their anointed servants must disarm as well. That is going further than any other such legislation that I am aware of having passed previously.

The latest attempt here has garnered LE pushback in my area from a lot of us.

The spokesman stumbles through the wording a little but he does say "open and concealed carry" at 01 : 02 : 22
If you use JP-8, then it's technically not waterboarding

It seems that the threat from some Sheriff's to deputize plebs to defend their 2A rights is partially at the heart of including LEOs in this pronouncement from their Graces at the legislature.

Glad to see delegate Gilbert was jabbing back and swinging but to no avail. They were outvoted 12-5. Wow!

She went kinda quick through that roll call. I thought I heard more than 5 no's, even still, I don't think I heard 9 of them. And yes, Gilbert was definitely swinging. And that spokesguy ... he seemed to be a graduate of the Robert Mueller school of public speaking.
