    .......
    "It is known that agent provocateurs have been used by the Democrats to provoke violence, to discredit the Trump presidential campaign in 2016. It is plausible that similar tactics will be used to provoke Second Amendment supporters on January 20th in Richmond. Violence by leftists will be excused by the legacy media. Self Defense by Second Amendment supporters will be portrayed as criminal."

    When all that matters is winning and getting your way anything is possible now and should be expected.

    True as far as it goes. The article, and the other source I linked, are designed to help Pro-2A folks be prepared and not get suckered into anything. It's rather important IMHO. Many older Pro-2A folks expect others to behave civilly. It was once something that you could, mostly, count on in the public square - not so much any more. Preparation is key.

    I have two signs I'm planning on taking to Lobby Day:

    Virginia: Birthplace of presidents, death place of liberty

    Soapbox. Jury Box. Ballot box.
    You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

    People are getting nutty about this whole thing. The one thing I notice is hardly any of the nutters are people involved in organizing the event. A lot of the Chicken Littles aren't even people who plan to attend. We do have one team lead who is asking if they will let him in the building with a steel plate carrier. I told him that if I thought I needed one, I would not go. The more reactionary our side gets, the less likely they are to be provoked and the riskier things get.

    Sure, anything can happen, but that is always true with events like this. Despite all the obstacles thrown in our way, thousands of people are showing up to show the world we are normal, peaceful citizens who stand up for our rights. We are going to lobby and have a rally. End of story. I think the tinfoil hatters should stay home if they are so nervous.

    You can only do so much to try to cover all bases. What's that saying? "Hope for the best, prepare for the worse."? Virginia is too far away for me to make the trip so the best I can do is provide financial support so that Virginians can make it to the rally. One thing for sure, we need to make a stand to squash these infringements.

    Sometimes, the best thing you can do for your cause is to walk calmly and fearlessly into the jaws of danger, and just see what happens next. The rest will be history.
    History is written about those who were willing to risk greatly, win or lose. We often call them heroes.
    I believe that we are now standing at an historical crossroad. It is a time for heroes to arise.
    I will go in with a Norseman's mindset: That my fate is already determined. If anything bad is destined to happen to me, nothing I do can possibly change that. The only power in my hands is how well I conduct myself in the face of adversity. Will I be a hero or a coward?
    If we do not believe deep down that our cause is of such importance that it is worth risking life and limb to defend, why are we even here?

    "Rather proclaim it, Westmorland, through my host,
    That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
    Let him depart; his passport shall be made,
    And crowns for convoy put into his purse;
    We would not die in that man's company
    That fears his fellowship to die with us.
    This day is call'd the feast of Crispian.
    He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
    Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam'd,
    And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
    He that shall live this day, and see old age,
    Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
    And say "To-morrow is Saint Crispian."
    Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
    And say "These wounds I had on Crispin's day."
    Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
    But he'll remember, with advantages,
    What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
    Familiar in his mouth as household words—
    Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
    Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester—
    Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red.
    This story shall the good man teach his son;
    And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
    From this day to the ending of the world,
    But we in it shall be rememberèd—
    We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
    For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
    Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
    This day shall gentle his condition;
    And gentlemen in England now a-bed
    Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
    And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
    That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."
