GA: Bad news - Georgia Republican Bill Hitchens Blocking Constitutional Carry

It's not just Democrats who are misinformed on the US Constitution and their perception that they, from their lofty position of wisdom and POWER, get to decide who should be grated the "privilege" of carrying.

Republican State Rep. Bill Hitchens, Chairman of the House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee, is blocking Constitutional Carry legislation (House Bill 2) in his committee. The proposal is that anyone legally able to own and possess firearms should not have to pay the government to exercise that right.

In an interview with 11Alive in Atlanta, Hitchens said among other things, “we have to be very careful with our gun laws and who we can allow to have them . . . ”

House Bill 2, introduced by Georgia’s most pro-gun elected official, State Rep. Matt Gurler, would make the weapons license optional, not do away with the license so that reciprocity would remain in place. 16 states currently have Constitutional Carry.

On the campaign trail in 2018, then candidate Brian Kemp, pledged to sign into law Constitutional Carry. Here’s video of Governor Kemp on the trail.

Get rid of all the RINOS.
Don’t vote for someone just because there is a R after their name.
Check them out, if two faced, primary their butts out.

I'm not certain Hitchens even knows what day it is let alone has read the Constitution.

Not all politicians will toe the party line on all issues, bu they risk losing party support if they do. If you follow the money, you will discover their true motivations in almost all cases.

Some politicians put a "D" or "R" after their name because they know they can't beat the front-runner of one party in that party's primary. For these people, no stock can be placed in them acting like the letter after their name would suggest. Many who try, but fail, to secure the party nomination will run as an "I." Case in point, Joseph I. Lieberman, ran for Senate as an "I" after losing the "D" primary in CT. So, he was elected as an "I" but caucused with Democrats.

Moron He doesn't understand the dis-qualifiers for carrying would be the same for purchasing already in place.
