as much as i loved my 1911 i wasnt paying her anywhere near the attention she deserved and decided to part with her...i dont think theres another gun as pretty as a 1911 and it was a pleasure to shoot....but just didnt fit the bill as a carry gun for me...
the purchase of my G19 turned me onto glocks after resisting them for years and with all the good things i have read about the G30 i had to give it a try...purchased a G30SF..
i found the SF brought me just closer to the trigger enough for very relaxed trigger finger contact and proved itself well at the range with none of the usual pull left and down getting used to a new DAO trigger...i zeroed in on the center of the target immediately and was able to place almost all of my shots in the bull black at 15 yards without any real effort...this is a triumph for me as with shoulder surgery and nerve damage i tend to shake quite a bit...the gun is very comfortable and easy to place and hold on target...
recoil is almost non-existant for a .45...target reaquisition is fast and easy...i was wondering where some of my shots were going until i got the binoculars out and found shared holes..trigger is noticeably lighter than the 19 and this gun is a pleasure to shoot...its is about as easy to conceal as the 19 otherthan being a tad thicker and i'm sure will be spending a great dealof time on my side...
no problems whatsoever...things are pretty tight at first...mags are difficult to get 10 rounds into...i cycled 5 rounds at a time through them just to get the springs cycling and theyve loosened up a bit already....fed it ball and speer gold dots...sweet shooter...
best trade off ive ever made...she aint pretty but she is definately a performer...
