Real Title: Texas congressman's re-election campaign will give away a Bushmaster AR-15 rifle - the same model Adam Lanza took to Newtown, Connecticut
By David Martosko In Washington (for the Daily Mail, UK)

My Comments: Why do we have to rely on the UK press to cover this? Our USA press are idiots (or very bias in a certain way)! As far as the Firearm give away, way OK by me. Much more legit than the way the other side 'buys' votes.

Stockman, a congressional freshman whose campaign boasts on Twitter that he is 'the most conservative Congressman in Texas,' is angling for a second term.

.......Twitter erupted late Wednesday after the congressman announced the prize giveaway by tweeting: 'Want to win a FREE AR-15? Congressman Steve Stockman is giving one away! ... Grab this gun before Obama does!'

The UK will print the truth about it. The U.S. media will only demonize someone that stands for freedom...

That's an interesting campaign tactic. I rather like it.

Not sure I'd agree with that, fully. The UK government and news is extremely anti-gun. Wouldn't surprise me that this news item was presented for the purpose of showing the level of supposed insanity across the pond. Though, that opinion having been said, to their credit they didn't concoct a complete hatchet job. The article seemed fairly straight-up on what was going on with the campaign and the offer.

I like one of the quotes from (I think) his campaign office:

"There is nothing more psychotic and violent than an anti-gun activist. But people across the country love the idea and support the civil right to keep and bear arms."
