Real Title: Maryland County Passes ‘Second Amendment Preservation Resolution’

On the evening of May 22, 2013, the Board of Commissioners of Carroll County presented, debated and adopted a resolution known as the “Second Amendment Preservation Resolution”. This resolution, among other things, declared Carroll County as a “Second Amendment Sanctuary County”.

County officials, including the Board of County Commissioners, the States Attorney and the Sheriff deemed this action necessary in light of the recent enactment by the Maryland General Assembly of “pretended legislation” known as the Maryland Firearms Safety Act of 2013.

..... And the Resolution further declares that the unconstitutional provisions of the act will not be enforced in Carroll County.

My Comments: Having lived a long time out in southern PA, Western VA and the panhandle of MD, I would have thought that Garrett, Allegney and Washington Counties would have passed such a resolution way in advance of Caroll County. Those are the true rural mountain counties of MD. I think what you are seeing is a 'backlash' to the hughe and under-reported crime rates that come out of Baltimore City, overflowing into Caroll County on the south eastern side.

Well, a county at a time isn't making much progress, but it's still progress. Kudos to their attempts to halt the tyranny of erasure of our RKBA. :congrats:

It's about time a government in MD did something that makes me proud to have lived there for most of my life. I had given up all hope for my former home state.

The State of my ancestors and namesake. About time to see some backbone of the real Marylanders I know. Most of them on the Eastern Shore where the way of life is more tied to the land. but this county, surprisingly rests on the Western Shore. We Carroll's are proud today.
