Anyone carrying a 357 sig? How do you like it? Thinking about purchasing a g33 or maybe a conversion barrel for my g27.

Yes, I have the Smith and Wesson M&P in .357 sig.

You can switch it over to a .40 cal simply by changing the barrel if you so desire.

I have the compact version but can add the magazine extention to make it full size. I'm very happy with it.

Go for it.

Don't carry 357 SIG at this time but keep a P226 in my car that is chambered for it. I have both SIG and HK guns in 357 SIG that I'll carry during the winter.

I've used a Lone Wolf barrel (.357 sig and 9 MM) to shoot thousands of rounds through my G-27 for years and have never had one FTF/FTE. I have absolutely no qualms about carrying it for personal protection either. I believe the .357 sig to be one of the most accurate rounds used today. I've also owned and carried the G33 but found it redundant to own both guns so I sold the G33. I've been sorry ever since.

I have a 33 and a 27, to compare:

Glock 27:
Federal Hydra-Shok 180 gr. @ 940 fps / 353# KE
Remington Golden Saber 165 gr. @ 1,028 fps / 387# KE
Winchester Ranger T 165 gr. @ 1,113 fps / 454# KE

Glock 33:
Ranger T 125 gr. @ 1,280 fps / 455# KE
Gold Dot 125 gr. @ 1,284 fps / 458# KE
Federal HST 125 gr. @ 1,315 fps / 480# KE

The longer barrel of the 32 adds performance:
Glock 32:
Winchester Ranger T 125 gr. @ 1,340 fps / 499# KE
Speer Gold Dot 125 gr. @ 1,344 fps / 501# KE
Federal HST 125 gr. @ 1,358 fps / 512# KE

I have a .357sig barrel that will fit the G27, bought it new from Midway and only fired about 25 rounds thru it. I sold my G27 and the buyer was not interested in the barrel. PM me if interested.

I had a G32C, and currently carry a P229 in 357Sig. I like the speed of the round. It tends to have a slightly softer recoil than 40S&W IMO, and ammo can be found reasonably priced if you shop around. Last time I bought it, I bought 50rd boxes of HST for less than I could buy it in FMJ locally, and bought Sigs brand at ~$18/50.

The 32 was a great gun BTW, I'm just not a Glock guy.

Hi there.

good choice.

Before the local ammo supply dried up for .357 SIG.

My wife and I shot a G33. G32, and G31.

I also had the sweet shooting M&P357 Compact.

More hop and pop than our 9mms, but less recoil than the .40s I've
owned.

Phenom. accuracy, at least with the Double Tap and Hornday ammo.

Used to carry it in a Full Size M&P357Sig but I do not anymore. The Full Size M&P 357Sig with the Crimson Trace Laser Grip is one of my home defense weapons and I like it alot. It stays loaded with 125 grain Federal HST JHP.

My usual cooler weather carry is a M&P compact .40 with a .357 barrel in it. Love the accuracy of it and the recoil is pretty tame. I carry it with federal 125gr. HST loads. Also have a sig 229 and nightmare 1911 in .357. Its one of my favorite calibers.

carry the G32 and G33 outfitted with Trijicon night sights. G31 is a range toy. Feed with Underwood .357SIG 125gr moving out at 1,450 fps for the best performance. I currently carry Speer Gold Dot 125 gr....because I got a great deal on 500 rounds of the stuff couple of years ago. It only moves at 1350 fps.

I converted my HK P2000 (.40) a couple weeks ago with an HK 357SIG barrel.

Put about 300 rds through it so far, couple hundred factory Speer, and 100 of my reloads, zero issues. The Speer 125 GDHPs chronograph at 1287 FPS out of my HKs 3.66" barrel and I've already developed a load to match them. So far zero difference in carrying it (357 VS .40), as to be expected, but I prefer shooting it in 357Sig more. It might be me, but it seems like it's softer shooting than it is in .40. I've swapped barrels in the middle of a range session, and the 357s are just easier to shoot faster on steel. Definitely louder, especially when shooting through a barricade, but the recoil seems less. The recoil in the P2K feels about the same as fast 124s in my little Walther PPS.

POI VS POA remained about the same, slightly lower with 357S due to the lighter, faster bullets. I've got 1000 bullets, and 2000 once fired Speer cases inbound, so I'll get to play with it some more. I've got a .40 SIG 226 that's about to get the same treatment as it looks like I've finally found a use for a .40 caliber pistol.......

I might have gone about it the easy way, but reloading for it hasn't presented any challenges either.

I CCW a G4 Glock Model 23 with the Alpha Wolf .357 barrel and just love the ballistics of the .357 Sig.
Only thing that could be better is if Glock made the same pistol in a single stack!
That would be the cats ass.......

I had a Sig P229 DAK in 357 sig. Liked the gun and the ammo ... couldn't afford the ammo to do much practicing. Passed it along to one of my sons.

I had a Glock 33 for a while. Really nice gun, but I just didn't seem to shoot it as well as some of my other carry guns so eventually sold it. That was my experience with it.

Bought a Sig P239 in .40 many years ago. A few years back, I swapped out the barrel and magazines and turned it into a .357 Sig. Personally, I think that was one of my better decisions
I much refer my 239 in 357 over 40.
