Joe, I have posted this on other threads, but here goes. I applied Dec 27th. I got a letter indicating that my fingerprints were unreadable on Feb 27 (60 days). I went on Feb 28 to refingerprint. I called last week and they told me my second prints were also unreadable. Now, they do just a "name check". I was told to give it a week to 10 days and I should know something.

I hate waiting.
How long does the DoA&CS site say it may take? ninety days. Don't get the panties in a wad until then. Patience is a virtue.
Hey try 90 days, ugh. That's how long it took me in S.C.After talking with some friends that has their's,i'm thinking 90 days must be the norm here.Hopefully,it won't be to much longer for you,Joecc.
Not to make you madder than you are, I got mine a week after going to the office in Tampa. But, that was before all this craziness. Part of the appeal in waiting for an appointment to go there is that it's not supposed to take 90 days. I would call them

Oh, and welcome to the forum. I'm not that far north of you. Where do you go to shoot? The closest place to me is hernando county sportsmens, but it's outdoors. Very nice place though
Took 2 weeks for mine. Sorry bout your luck. Keep being patient. It'll come.
yeahp i guess it might just take 90 days,it sucks, but,IT IS WHAT IT IS.. I guess:frown:
Yeahp Hernando county sportsman and also the firing line on ridge road by 52,but i like goin to hernando.i like the fact that it's outdoors.I also go deer hunting there in chassahowitzka (or however you spell it.)im goin this weekend maybe we'll meet out there
Well here in Indiana the wait can be 4 or 5 months right now. Supposed to be 60 days max by law.

They went from 2000-3000 apps a month to 6000-7000 a week. I applied on Feb. 22nd and probably won't see anything 'til late July or August.

The upside is I get plenty if time to practice with my PX4 before jumping right into CC.
Sorry it's taking so long, funny story: I applied for mine mid Jan in PA they told me it would be 2 weeks because so many were applying, so after handing in paperwork and getting pic taken I left and went to grocery store. While I was shopping they called me and said "we have your drivers license", would you like us to mail it or do you want to come pick it up? I said I would be there in about 1/2 hour to pick it up and they said by the way your permit will be there to pick up with it....

You deserve at least a pat on the back for being "in line" to do the right thing.

Here is the very good news: You will only have to go through this wait one time, unless you let your permit expire. Hang in there, my friend, you are making a good choice. Persist and grow in patience and your wait will be rewarded!
It currently looks like close to 90 days if you mail it in and about 27 days if you have an appt. Of course that's 27 days after your appt and they are making appt's 3 months out right now. Not a lot you can do except relax and wait. I believe they are doing their best to deal with the backlog. I understand there were 120,000+ applications in Jan alone Haven't heard the numbers for Feb yet.
I got lucky & hit it just right in Wisconsin. I applied for my CCL after the initial rush (our CC law was put into effect in Nov. '11) & before all of this talk of gun control & panic madness. It took 8 days mailbox to mailbox. I know the wait is longer now.
