To me, it looked like a AirWrench... I just sent it, as thought others might wanna see. Strange stuff, the Govt is touting, it seems.

Modelled on a nail gun LOL! Could be.

It sure is wierd and also interesting - tried to snag the vid bit no luck.
The Armed Forces Journal summarized the Kriss this way:

This certainly wins the ?gee whiz? category for a full-auto weapon, particularly a .45 cal. The big win is in the lack of recoil. ?the pragmatic question is: ?What will it be used for?? With its small magazine size, this is a weapon in need of a very innovative magazine solution. ? It shows promise, but creates the interesting situation where the innovation can?t stop at the receiver, but must go to the whole weapon ? from ammo to sights."

Here's the permalink to save a bunch of scrolling.

I guess the idea is that by putting the barrel low and having the grip like that is that it should eliminate muzzle flip, thus allowing more effective full auto fire. I'm pretty sure that's just a concept prototype, but it would be interesting to see if the concept ends up in some production guns.
