Anyone know if the current version Glock mags will work in the new Gen 4 so long as you don't reverse the mag catch? Thanks.

I have no idea, frankly you would think they will work because they are not changing the guns much at all. Pretty disappointing if you ask me, it's like Gen 3.5

That big release caused me to think they might not work. I bought a bunch of mags while waiting to get a G17, and now will go with a 3rd Gen if compatibility is going to be an issue w/Gen 4.

I would enjoy what you have purchased. I promise that the 4th gen wont be anymore reliable. The new features are not too amazing from what I have seen. If it were me, I would be just fine with a 3rd gen. They are rock solid, and you wont be a lab rat.

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is the difference between a 3rd gen and a 4th gen? My glock is a 3rd generation so how does that differ from the 4th?

The Gen 4 changes are more cosmetic than functional in my opinion. Mainly, RTF grip (which I think is too rough), interchangeable backstrap (allowing a wider range of customers), extended slide release (which should have been installed originally), and reversable mag release (which only makes sense to accomadate lefties).
But it's still the same old Glock--just a new coat of paint!
