PreShooting Review

Picked it up last night and did some looking at it , Fitting is good on the sideplate no gaps.

Fitting on the grips on the backstrap could be a little tighter but most wood grips i see on smith's are like this.

Trigger pull in double action is heavy, surprising it is that its heavy but its not as bad as i thought last night.

While heavy its Smooth Little Stacking just before the Trigger Breaks.

Think im gonna try a Wolfe Mainspring Like what they use in the Performance center Pistols, supposed to lighten up double action while keeping the gun Realiable.

The Single action is Sweet Very Very Smooth and a Light Trigger maybe breaking 3#'s

The 4" balances Well in the hand,And is very fast to pull up the sights and weild around.

The Front sight has a gold bead in it and is SWEEETTT Super easy to pick up and line up in the rear notch.

This gun is set up to use moonclips for very fast relaods But Jerry M im not and will never be.

The Grip is something different for me as ive said i have big hands and usually like a big grip.

These Slim Line smooth grips feel very good in the hand hopefully they will feel the same when im Shooting, right now the gun feel sweet with the grip i love um and only wish they were avaible for other guns if i really like um.

If i do like them i will order another set and set the JM engraved on Aside

Heres a Pic

Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful

Very Nice Bud!
That is a serious business firearm.
You know it's going to be a Dream Shooter after the trigger get lightened up a bit.:biggrin2:

Haha - I think I know the next one - but I won't spill Bud

That is a lovely piece there - I don't get to shoot my ('ordinary'!) 625 anything like as much as I should - knowing that when I do it is always a total pleasure. Look fwd to post shooting analysis!

Bud - hahaha - well as this was not on the ''possible carry'' list it went without CT's!! I just have CT's on 629, 28 and SP.

Mine takes full moons oh yeah - just happened that when I took the pic all I had to hand were the half moons. I only use full, including those plastic ones for range use - only metal tho for serious stuff.

Bud,
As I recall it's www.ranchproducts.com but you can't order on line. Call them at (313) 277 3118.
Their billing process will shock you in this day and age. Unless it's recently changed, they will send you the moonclips with an invoice-then you send a check.
Good folks to deal with.
Dave
Wow that would be a surprise if they ship like that ill call them next payday and see what they get for them

What a gun Man was it great..

6 shots single all touching basically one ragged hole..

First 6 double action 5 touching 1 off second set all touching

what a easy gun to shoot the front gold bead is was easy to find the back range lights were on and i shot even better like that it was great..

The Grooved speed trigger was very nice i can see this becoming my fav wheelie and possibly displacing my trooper from that mantel

Pretty much I would have expected Bud - I thoroughly enjoy giving my plane Jane 625 some excercize!! Glad you are enjoying it.
don't give me revolveritis again.
Euc - hey come on - that condition is permanent - it only gets ''masked'' by semi's! :18:

need lots of moon clips though but fun

i was surpised that it recoiled at all i thought the heavy barrel would soak it up ..

I dont know why people complaine about recoil of the 45 its lightest recoiling round out there next too a 22

I got moon clips for sale too, they are Ranch products stuff including 1/3 moon clips. As my name tells you I love 25s, only own three but I will get more :image035:

Hope to hear soon how your new gun shoots. I have had great luck with a target load in all the 45s I have ever shot but it takes cleaning after you shoot it. 5.6 grains of 231 behind a 200 gr lswc makes one hole at 25 yards
