So with this ammo shortage going on, I have taken to casting my practice ammo instead of using up my stash of jacketed bullets. I took several of my 9 mm's and .45's to the range the other day for some play time. The list 9 MM included, Browning HP, S&W 5906, S&W 940, Walther P-38 and a Kahr PM9. The .45's were Colt Combat Elite, FireStar and a Brazilian Model 37 (S&W 1917). I threw in my Glock 22C in .40 just because it shoots so well.
Ammo was Cast Lead, Wheel weights, 124Gr 9 MM FMJ Profile over 5grs of Unique and a 230Gr FMJ Profile over 6grs Unique. Same for the .45 AR. The .40 was an RCBS Cast 180 Gr 38-40 Flat point over 6grs of Unique. Range was 7 yds.....
The 9 MM Chrono'd at around 1100fps out of the 5906, about a 1000fps out of the little 940.
The .45ACP came in around 850fps out of the Colt and S&W and 800 out of the FireStar. The AR were around 850-900fps.

The Glock shot around 1050-1100fps with 6grs of Unique and the RCBS Cast 180 Gr 38-40 Flat point.

That's the spirit!

The pessimist complains about the wind
The optimist hopes the wind will change
The realist adjusts his sails

Looks like you're a realist.

Got 300 to 400 rds down range today myself felt good. Had the mk111 today an always forget how much fun that gun is to shoot. Snubs shot really well. Amazing how many families were out at the range today having a good time.

Good god man, are your hands as big as they appear to be? Those pistols look like toys in them. That being said, nice collection, looks like a good day at the range.

Man, I like your hardware! Even the Glock 22 is interesting because of the caliber and the handload.

Good thoughtful handloading too!
