We should make another blog about cops who 'abuse' the priviledge...no offense meant to the MANY great cops out there...just pointing out the uselessness of such a blog...just an 'anti' info site.:hand1:

I will admit that I have commited crimes as a CCW. Jaywalking, Speeding, Failing to stop completly at a Stop sign. The above blog is a waste of time.

Pick any demographic with a population in the millions and you will find a certain percentage of nuts, criminals, and just plain bad actors. Our particular demographic is no different. What is different, is the extremely low percentage of the aforementioned nuts, criminals, and bad actors compared to the rest of society. Unfortunately, that doesn't get reported by the anti's. To the contrary, they tend to do everything they can to hide it.

FL-4 crimes in 5 years, out of over 600,000 permittees.

I'm overwhelmed. (yawn)

I would also be curious about a blog on the abuse committed by LEOs, Politicians, Judges etc etc.

Very true, you will no doubt find some great info on violent acts committed by anti gun nuts too if you look hard enough.

I'd be interested in also seeing all the incidents in which a ccw holder used his/her firearm in a legitimate case of self defense.

Selective data is almost always misleading, and often intentionally.

If you go read the blog, she says that she has no problem with CCW or with those who responsibly accept the responsibility. She just has a problem with those who abuse the privilege.

I didn't like the blog, but read what she says before you judge. This is just an accountability lesson.

I don't think he's getting a lot of readers to his blog.

I went through every page (4) of his blog. Not reading it, just checking the number of comments.

One entry had 5 comments and two other entries had 1 comment each for a grand total of 7 comments.

All the rest of the posts had a Big "0" comments!

If crime in the general population was at the same level as among permit holders, the unemployment lines would be full of out of work police. If crime amomg the members of congress was at the same level as among permit holders, we would be blessed with good government.

A blog cataloging crimes committed by permit holders

All we need are the unadulterated, un-spun statistics: the total number in the population (CHL's, or cops); the number of the population convicted with a felony (or any crime); the number of those yanked for conviction that got it back; and the number of recidivists in that final group.

Anything else is spin, bias and prejudice, really.

I'd love to see this sort of thing for any basic group of people for whom crime is being claimed a problem, from the general population of all citizens to any sub-group you'd care to mention (ie, cops, CHL holders, teachers, district attorneys, ex-felons, elected officials, people with salaries funded by the public, whomever). I'd be willing to bet that, short of nuns and saints, you'd have to go far to find a sub-group of the population as generally upstanding and law-abiding as CHL holders. It (CHL holders) is a self-selecting group of certifiable good-guys. Why on earth people focus on this group, when all the other groups out there are committing far more heinous crimes, and far more of them, is beyond me. Unadulterated, biased spin.

:Eyecrazy: "OMG, he's got a GUN!" One would think sentient bipeds would be more intelligent than to go jelly-kneed because of that.

That's the problem...while it is treated as a privilege...it's actually a RIGHT

One, some of the one's they are listing... there were no charges, if there were... the disposition (found guilty ? ) and sentence ?

That all leads me to believe they are NOT interested in the facts, nor the truth.

When they say, got engaged another driver, and ended up......
Ok... what did that driver do ? What's ALL of the facts. Obviously they may not want to show ALL of the facts.... did the guy come at him with a knife ? a gun ? what ?

And I agree... what about the "good" defensive situations where good people would have died if they didn't have protection ?

Fair and balanced, it's not.
