The safety rules are there for a reason, and eye and hearing protection is one of them. When we hear about people being harmed while shooting it is almost always because someone didn't follow one of the safety rules. Follow them each and every time.

That will ruin a day for sure.

I saw a 1911 last weekend that had had a catastrophic failure.

Short version of the story: Owner had picked up "his" ejected round after an idpa stage. And it turns out that a .40 can get stuck in a .45 barrel right ahead of the chamber. So when you tap, rack, and bang an ACP into the back of a live .40 round obstructing the bore, bang becomes KABOOM.

People need to pay attention to what they are doing.

That gives new meaning to..."You'll shoot your eye out!"

"Are YOU ready for a zombie attack?" Apparently not...

I'm no AR expert, but that metal looks awfully red, even where the crack in the chamber exposed metal for the first time. Is it possible it was just rusted all to hell? Or had a crack developing for a while?

Wow, that was a serious kaboom.
Let's blame it on SIXTO.
I hear that. One look from Sixto has been known to cause sphincter failure, so why not AR failure?

Did the force destroy the magazine? Were there consecutive detonations?
