I've tested this one before, but wanted to do a deep dive with a fresh box. It did really well, but it might not be the best choice for a short barrel 45.

That was superb. HST is what I carry in both 9 and .45. The dowel idea was excellent, but I think your plank idea is even better. Thanks for doing those! Looking forward to you doing the same test for Gold Dot and Critical Duty.

I really like that you are using the wood to simulate bone. Will you be testing any 9mm loads in this way?
I'd like to see the Hornady Critical Defense 9mm, and any 147 grain 9mm load tested this way.

I'll probably retest the HST 124 and 147 +Ps at some point this summer.

I received info that the 230 grain HST will expand @ 600fps.
