Initial impressions, Range Day, and post-range cleaning. Overall, a positive review.

yours is the ONLY positive review I have seen on the CCP.
The early ccp's had a few problems but the more recent production guns are fine. I have a ccp and its an awesome gun. Matter of fact Im very tempted to buy another ccp. Glad to hear you like your gun and it works fine.

do you have the date or serial # starting the recent production CCPs ? it is a great size gun for CC but it is a shame some are problematic. thanks

Yep. All I've read about have been the problems they suffer from.

Very, VERY glad to hear of the reported improvement. I tried an early production model. Few guns have felt more comfortable to my grip, yet more disappointing to my...trigger finger.

My CCP serial # is around 40,600. Only problem I have with it, is it leaks. I keep trying to plug it with full magazine and the rounds just leak out the muzzle. Not one malfunction since I bought it last March. Going on 2500 rounds. I do keep a round count on my EDC's and I have no complaints. And yes.. I do trust my life to it. Maybe there are bad ones out there. Mine is not one of them. That's my review of MY CCP. YMMV:brutal7:

My ccp is just shy of 58,000.
shy of what 58,000 rounds fired or the serial # thanks
I have three walthers and they only ever come with two magazines. I don't know of any gun maker that supplies more than two magazines in the box. Your marking that as a con is grandstanding rhetoric at best.

Regardless, the history of the CCP made me disqualify it as a possible CC gun. I went with a Walther PPS M2, though I almost decided on a G43.

There have been more than a couple of positive reviews on WaltherForums.com. True, the initial reports have been HIGHLY negative, and it did cause me some concern. But I noticed that at about eight months after release, the newer CCP pistols seemed to improve, and the negative reviews dropped off.

Yeah, my wife's now considering getting one. She has yet to shoot it, but she's loathe to carry her own pistol (a PX4 Compact) due to the size.

Not really, but see my comment above.

So far, I'm pretty happy with it. I still have a few more hundred rounds before I'll feel totally comfortable with it. But I carry my PPQ in the meantime, anyway.
58,000 is the serial number of my CCP. I'm sure they are over the 60,000 mark by now. Many new handguns with a new platform have growing pains, and it's best to wait a year or two as the bugs are worked out. Many new guns get tweaked a bit here and there with slight spec adjustments, including their magazines. Trial and Error and we are the Ginny Pigs, unfortunately.

I've given several positive reviews of my 2 CCPs on the Walther Forum, many have.

Yup. And this is one of the reasons I decided to write up a comprehensive non-vendor, non-publication based review and post it on a few of the forums I frequent.
Im very happy with my ccp. I have no problems with my gun. The gun shoots extremely accurate, has a nice trigger very smooth and works when i pull the trigger. The only thing i did was to use white nail polish on the sights.

Have any of the Walther gurus figured a way to shorten the reset? It's almost as long (re: tedious?) as the Kahr P9!

Yeah, it's super long, and remains one of the drawbacks of the pistol (for most people). So far, I'm comfortable with it, but would appreciate the trigger to be a bit crisper and shorter on the reset.
