Not likely to pass but lets burn up those phonelines anyway! Please Contact the Members of the Assembly Public Safety Committee Today!

Assembly Bill 357 is scheduled to be heard by the Assembly Committee on Public Safety on Tuesday, January 12.

AB357, sponsored by Assembly Member Steve Knight (R-36), would create a “shall issue” concealed handgun permit system in California. Under current law, an applicant must show cause as to why they should be issued a permit to carry a concealed handgun for self-defense. AB357 would remove that stipulation and require sheriffs to issue the license if all other mandated criteria are satisfied.

Please contact the members of the Assembly Committee on Public Safety TODAY and respectfully urge them to support AB357. Contact information can be found below.

Good luck, I hope you can get this passed even though I think the political mentality there makes it doubtful.

Not only would this be a victory for Californians, but for all Americans. If it can go down in Cali, then we can take down the anti's laws everywhere. This would be a huge stepping stone.

It got shot down. :tired: :hand1:
Getting "shot down" is an understatement but entirely expected with the mentally deficient legislative leaders we have in Sacramento. Our best attack now is post-Chicago/MacDonald, with the already on hold Sykes lawsuit against CA's "may issue" standard. The court is in a holding pattern waiting for SCOTUS' decision.

When I saw this thread I started to get happy, now I just have an empty feeling. :tired:

If a proposed legislation included a hefty tax on those California residents requesting a CC permit, it would pass! California is soOoo broke, they may even sacrifice their socialism to get out of debt. Heck, it's worth a try...
Regards,
